Fairfield, Ohio, in Butler county, is 3 miles S of Hamilton, Ohio (center to center) and 13 miles NW of Cincinnati, Ohio. It's situated in southwestern Ohio. The city is home to the headquarters of Cincinnati Financial Corporation, Skyline Chili, Ohio Casualty and other prominent companies. Fairfield includes over 300 acres of land for recreational activities, outdoor entertainment and sports facilities. It offers some of the most attractive topography in Ohio. Fairfield History Judge John Cleves Symmmes, a colonial during the Revolutionary War bought over 330,000 acres. The community initially consisted of veterans from the Revolutionary War and a large number of them were from New Jersey. The settlers had numerous battles with the local Indians. It was given its name by the early pioneers for the beauty of the nearby hills. The Miami and Erie Canal, toll roads and the arrival of the Hamilton & Dayton Railroad significantly contributed to the growth of the community. In the early days, it was primarily an agricultural area.
